Our mission is to provide a platform for all to actively clean, restore, and protect the environment. We will be posting KOE Cleanup events that you can volunteer for on our events page.
Always seek permission from local police departments prior to scheduling cleanup events in public areas. Include the following information when seeking permission:
Always seek written permission from land owners prior to scheduling any cleanup events that may take place partially or wholly on private land.
We encourage everyone of all ages to participate in KOE Cleanup Events. However, we do not recommend young children to participate in cleanup events that are along busy roadways, waterways, steep terrain, or other potentially dangerous areas that can easily result in injuries.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult for all KOE Cleanup Events.
Proper attire is required based on clean up event location, weather, and terrain. Some items that we recommend are, but not limited to:
We recommend making sure you have the appropriate supplies needed to ensure a successful cleanup event. Nothing is worse that hiking to a cleanup event location and finding out that you don't have the appropriate tools needed. Some of the supplies include, but not limited to:
It's not uncommon to find hazardous objects such as broken glass and sharp scrap metal at cleanup events, all participants must take extreme caution as to not injure themselves with these objects.
Any illegal contraband that may be found during cleanup events must be reported to local police departments upon discovery. Do not touch any contraband but place a marker for easy finding for police to dispose of.

Absolutely! KOE has partnered with many groups for hosting environmental cleanup events. Please email KOE at events@keepersofearth.org with the information noted in the section above.
